When I Look in the Mirror
Nikita Tien NikitaTien

My Identification Card

Full Name | Nikita Alexandra Tien
Age | Twenty-Seven
Gender | Female

District | District Nine
Occupation | Victor of the 61st Hunger Games & Mentor

Height | 5’8”
Weight | 130 lbs.

The Truth About Me

Behind the Mirror | Nikita is a gorgeous woman, standing five foot eight without her heels and five foot ten with them. She has an elegant physique about her, her body time being very petite yet covered in muscle from how much exercise she has to partake in. Her skin is lightly tanned year round because of her ethnicity but she loves the way it looks and just how much she can wear with it. Her hair is a dark brown color, naturally cascading down in soft curls to her mid back and sweeping across her heart shaped face. Her eyes are the most noticeable feature of her face though, almond shaped eyes that are complimented with dark lashes that lightly shade her golden brown eyes. Those eyes are ones that do not show very much emotion though, everything hidden away inside her mind.

Nikita has two separate outfits, one that she wears when she is in the Capitol training and one that she wears when she is at home in her district. When she is at home in District Nine she usually wears a pair of tight pants and a nice baggy shirt, something that both looks elegant and allows her to be comfortable when she is training; her outfit is matched with a pair of lovely flats, something that only people in the Capitol can afford. When she is in the Capitol all of her outfits are extremely elegant and beautiful, something that everyone there expects of her since she is such a prestigious mentor and the fact that nobody in the Capitol is allowed to look anything lower than that. The only time that she is seen in anything other than a perfect outfit is when she is training with her tributes in the Training Arena and teaching them how to survive the Hunger Games, a pair of tight black pants and matching v-neck shirt cladding her toned body with her hair thrown up in a tie.

Personality | Nikita is very calm and collected at all time, never letting on more than necessary as a result of her past experiences in the 61st Hunger Games. As a child she was more lively and open to speaking and interacting with others but once she was forced to compete in the Hunger Games her entire being shut in on itself, making her the person she is today. Another aspect of her personality that has been altered by the games is her lack of caring for others around her. She does not care whether or not someone gets hurt because she has had to watch so many people die as a mentor to all those from Distinct Nine who had to enter the arena and be slaughtered. Her body language also always mimics her very controlled emotions and it is rare that she gives away anything more than indifference. Another important aspect to her personality is her determination that never wavers, this also stemming from her time in the arena of the Hunger Games. The entire time she had to remain determined to succeed and live which has helped her get where she is today. When she swears to do something it will get done no matter the cost.

Nikita loves to write because it gives her an outlet for her time and helps her to keep her emotions bottled up. Instead of having to let her emotions overwhelm her she can simply push all those thoughts of negativity away and write them out, letting her remain as composed as she is during the day. The only thing that she can say that she truly dislikes is having to watch all of the children die in the in the Hunger Games year after year without a hope of coming home and the image of her deceased best friend. The fact that he is gone consumes her and she hates having to be reminded that he will never come back to her.

My Haunting Memories

Nikita Alexandra Tien was born to Jacque and Eloise Tien on a cold winter night in District Nine when the harvest was bad and the factories had little to no work. As a result of this she caught pneumonia at the same time her father did late in the heart of winter; there was nothing her healthy mother could do to keep them safe and it was only by the work of a miracle that the starving infant was kept alive. Sadly this miracle did not extend across the board and to her Jacque as well, the once fit and healthy man dying early in January and leaving Eloise to care for a still silent infant that had little to no hope of surviving at the time. When spring arose and the crops began to grow Eloise stopped worrying about Nikita and began focusing souly on providing enough money to feed the child now that she lacked another care taker in the home.

Over the next five years Nikita grew up moving between two homes, the home where her mother lived and the home where an elderly woman who had lost her three children to the Reaping lived. Nikita did not mind this constant moving since she was far too young to understand what was going on, remaining perfectly content despite the fact that she hardly saw her own mother. When she began attending school, the elderly woman took Nikita both to the place and home afterward since her mother was never home during the day, but after a short time at school she stopped seeing the woman and her mother readjusted her schedule to pick Nikita up, It turned out that the woman had passed away from tuberculosis and old age, leaving Nikita to quickly learn how to care for herself when her mother was gone. She was able to stay at the day care system in the early morning hours, but in the afternoon she would have to stay home alone after her mother went back to work. Of course Nikita never complained though, only telling her mother that it was alright before taking care of herself.

At the age of nine the small female child began going to work with her mother when she got a new job at a local shop that sold a mixture of grains and various other items that were needed to attend work in the fields, this being the first place that she began her training for the future that awaited her, though it was unintentional at first. The boy named Shiru who lived next door to the Tien family and whose mother owned the grain shop had a small crush on Nikita and thought, as all boys did at that age, that if he picked on her she would like him back. He would often sneak up on her and push her around, but Nikita did not take his teasing and grabbed the first thing available to her and threw it at him. The boy was barely able to dodge the knife that was aimed at his head and from there the two became fast friends despite the violent actions. They were often seen playing after school and when the Hunger Games arrived on their tenth birthday the two watched and learned all they could from the television screen; they soon realized that this could be their fate some day. Shiru did not want to have to die though and leave the girl whom he had a crush on, nor have to watch her die, so he began teaching her how to defend herself with the weapons that they had at her mom’s shop.

Despite all their training after school Shiru would not survive the Reaping that selected him as a tribute for the 59th Hunger Games, dying near the end at the hands of a District Two boy; they said that his death was so gruesome to even publicize on the television, a shock that surprised everyone in Panem since the Capitol did not usually care. Still the Capitol described every single detail of the death that they refused to show on the television screen, purposely going over the story of the fourteen year old boy who only wanted to return home to his best friend that awaited him to show that the Capitol had no mercy even for the saddest of tales. After that day the shutdown of Nikita’s personality began and her training became more vigorous; she was determined not to die in vain of her best friend’s actions.

When she was sixteen Nikita was chosen in the Reaping for the 61st Hunger Games, the Hunger Games that she would end up winning in the name of her dead friend Shiru. The Capitol played up the story of the boy who had passed away just a few years ago, using this as a center point for their games and congratulating her over and over again for doing such a heroic act in the name of her friend. Sadly Nikita did not care about anything else once her time in the arena was up, her personality already destroyed by her best friend’s death and all of those who she had murdered in the arena.

Since those days in the Hunger Games Nikita has worked for the Capitol as a mentor during the new rounds that come up every year, moving into her plush home atop one of the wonderful hills of District Nine when she is away from the horrors of the Capitol. She no longer cares about the Hunger Games and the death they bring, her mind still stuck on the death of her best friend that plays before her eyes each night when she closes her eyes. All she can see is the face of the fourteen year old boy who she use to go outside and play with, his smile forever imprinted in her mind with that one last kiss they shared before he forever left her grasp.

I’m Lethal When Provoked

Physical Skills | Nikita is extremely skilled in evasion techniques as she watches more and more of the Hunger Games, learning what keeps people alive and what techniques only leads to them getting cut down. Her most notable skill though is her skill with knives, daggers, and scythe, her able to wield and throw all of them with extreme precision.
Physical Weaknesses | The only physical weakness that Nikita has is her inability to climb as fast as she was once able to, this simply coming with her age and the fact that she no longer needs to keep training her skills.

Mental Skills | Her main mental skill plays into her weakness and this is her ability to shut everything down. She can block out all the horrors of the Hunger Games and isolate herself inside of a bubble; it is to the point that she can even teach her new tributes how to kill someone from the inside out and not show any feelings for them. Her other mental strength is her intelligence, this playing up to help her absorb even more information as she continues to learn all she can to keep her tributes alive as they compete in the Hunger Games. When she participated in the Hunger Games she was already extremely skilled with them but once she was done she continued to advance her knowledge by training with her tributes each year and sometimes at her home when she grows bored.
Mental Weaknesses | Nikita’s main mental weakness is watching the horror of the Hunger Games unfold before her, though she never lets anyone around her see her fear. She has learned how to hide everything and keep it locked away from those around her, but that still does not take away her fears. Her main weakness is the image of her deceased friend Shiru, his happy face and her own version of his sick and twisted death imprinted into her mind. Whenever the Capitol plays up his death for a celebratory Hunger Games she is seen avoiding crowds and the paparazzi, the pictures too painful for her.

My Own Personal Hell

My District | District Nine is a district that definitely needs some work, but thankfully Nikita does not have to see most of it as she isolates herself in her home atop the hills. She is afraid that if she walked down to see her district she would be reminded of her past and so she avoids it at all costs.
The Hunger Games | The Hunger Games are just like the Reaping, an event that must be accepted by all. There is truly no point in fighting it when the Capitol could eliminate the rebellion against it.
